# Why doesn't the number in my report match what I see on the price page?

> The report looks back over a whole week or month and uses different measures per figure. The price page shows the latest prices. So the two can differ.

The report describes a finished week or month. The price page shows prices as they are now. They answer different questions, so a shop can look cheaper than you on one and not on the other.

## Above the lowest price

For **Above the lowest price**, and for the headline of the report e-mail, priceq takes every price it measured at each shop during the period and uses the middle value, the median, per shop. The cheapest of those medians is the lowest price. Your product counts when your price is above it.

A two-day sale at one shop barely moves a median over a week. So a shop can undercut you on the price page today while the report does not count it.

## The position bar

Here priceq works differently. The bar with **cheapest**, **level** and **dearer** uses the single lowest price measured in the whole period. If any shop dipped below your price for even one check, that product counts as **dearer**.

That is why the position bar can show more products as **dearer** than **Above the lowest price** does. Both are correct. The bar answers "did anyone go below me at all?", the other figure "who is really cheaper most of the time?".

## Your own price

Your price in the report is your selling price, or your MSRP when you have none, as priceq knew it when the report was built. It is not an average over the period. If you changed your price during the week, the report compares the market against your newer price.

## What the report leaves out

Only other shops count, never your own webshop. Archived products are left out too.

## A report does not update itself

A report is a snapshot of the moment it was built. Prices measured after that do not change it. To get today's figures for the last completed week, choose **Refresh report** on the Reports page. See [Weekly and monthly reports](/help/en/alerts-and-reports/weekly-and-monthly-reports).

For what the price page shows, see [Reading the price table](/help/en/understanding-prices/reading-the-price-table).
