# How do I read the Trends page?

> Trends shows how your prices and the market moved over a period: the market average, your price index, the price leader and the biggest moves.

The Trends page shows how prices moved over time, for your whole range and for single products. Open **Trends** in the menu.

## Choosing what you look at

At the top you pick the period: **30d**, **90d**, **6mo** or **12mo**, or two dates in the calendar. Periods up to a month are drawn per day, longer ones per week. The category menu and **Filter** narrow the page to part of your range.

Only prices in your home currency count. Competitor prices only count when the shop has stock. Your own price always counts.

## The top row

- **Market average · portfolio**: the average competitor price over your products, and how much it changed in the period.
- **You versus the market**: how far your average price sits **above market** or **below market**.
- **index · 100 = market**: your latest price index, averaged over the products where both you and a competitor have a price. See [What does the price index number mean?](/help/en/understanding-prices/the-price-index).
- **Price changes**: how often a price changed in the period, and at how many retailers.

## The charts

**Portfolio versus market** draws **My average price** against the **Market average**, with a band for the **Market spread (cheapest–dearest)**. Days on which too few products were measured are left blank, so one odd day does not look like a market crash.

**Your price index over time** shows the same comparison as one line around 100. Above the line you are dearer than the market.

## Categories, leaders and moves

**Where the market is moving** has one row per category, sorted by the amount under pressure. It shows the market trend, the net movement, **Your position** and the **€ at stake**.

**Price leader over time** names, per week, the shop that was cheapest on the most products. **you** means that was your shop.

**Biggest movements** lists the five competitor price changes with the largest amount in the period. Each says whether the shop **lowered** or **raised** its price and where it now sits: **below your price**, **at your price**, **room to follow** when it is now above you, or **no own price**. **all products → Overview** opens the Overview matrix.

## One product

Type in **Search a product…** or click a move to open one product. You see its price line against the shops, with **Scale** set to **€** or **index 100**. Under the chart you see how far you sit from the cheapest shop, plus the lowest, highest and average price in the period. **To Pricing advice** opens that product on the Repricing page. **Back to portfolio** returns to the overview.
