Comparison
priceq vs PriceShape
Both track your competitors’ prices and work out a new price. The difference is how you get started and how a price reaches your shop. With priceq you create an account yourself, connect your shop and add a competitor once. With PriceShape you request a trial, they set up your account with your product feed, and new prices usually arrive through a feed that your shop reads in. Here they are side by side.

1Getting started
Start on your own or book a meeting first
priceq: today, entirely on your own.
You create an account, connect your shop and paste a competitor’s address, once. priceq finds their product pages itself, by EAN and then by part number and brand. Press Measure now and you have prices straight away.
PriceShape: a form, then a meeting.
You fill in your webshop’s address. Then someone from their team gets in touch; in the meantime you can book a meeting. You supply a product feed; according to their pricing page, they connect it on day 2 to 4 of your trial. A dedicated account manager guides you.

2Every morning
What you see when you log in
priceq: everything on one screen, from cheap to expensive.
The overview matrix sets all your products against all your competitors, with your price among them. One click and you see only where you are undercut. You filter on product attributes that priceq builds for you.
PriceShape: a product list full of figures.
At the top are three blocks: price groups, your main competitors and a market index. Below that, a wide card per product, with your margin on the left and, on the right, a strip of competitors that you scroll sideways.

From proposal to your shop
priceq: you see what a strategy does before it does it.
How many prices change, and how many euros lower or higher in total. Every proposal says why. In the first week you approve every change yourself. After that it goes to Shopify, WooCommerce or Magento 2 automatically, and priceq reads every price back.
PriceShape: a feed your shop fetches.
You build a strategy in a wizard of a few steps. The new prices go into a price feed. Your shop fetches that feed itself and processes it; according to PriceShape, you often arrange that with your developer or a partner. For Shopify they mention an integration; for Magento there is a paid module from a partner.

4Cost
What you pay each month
priceq: three fixed plans, everything included.
Per month, excluding VAT. Trends, alerts and reports come with every plan. You can cancel any month, or pay yearly for 10% off. It is all on the pricing page.
PriceShape: from €599, the rest on request.
Their pricing page gives a starting price. The actual price depends on your products and your markets; you hear it after you request a quote.

One address per competitor. priceq finds the product pages itself.
3Run them side by side
Keep PriceShape for a little while and compare the prices. Then you can see for yourself which one to keep.
Questions
Do I need a product feed for priceq?
No. You connect Shopify, WooCommerce or Magento 2, and priceq fetches your products itself: price, EAN and, if your shop stores it, your cost price. For another shop, use a CSV or Excel file, or send your products through the priceq API.
Do I need a developer to put prices in my shop?
No. On Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento 2, priceq puts approved prices in your shop itself and reads them back. That comes with the Business plan and up.
How soon do I see the first prices?
As soon as your products are connected, you can measure straight away with Measure now. After that priceq measures every morning on its own.
How many competitors can I track?
Three on Start and Business, unlimited on Professional. Your own shop does not count.
Does priceq track marketplaces too?
priceq tracks your competitors’ own webshops, in your own country. If you mainly want to track Amazon, bol or Idealo, PriceShape is the better fit for that.
Where is my data stored?
priceq is hosted in the EU, at Hetzner in Nuremberg. priceq is a product of Outflanq, a Dutch company.
