Snooze, ignore, mute or resolve: what is the difference?

Updated

Alerts and reports, 8 articles

Every alert on the Alerts page has four buttons on the right of its row: Snooze, Ignore 30d, Mute and Mark resolved. Open an alert and you also get Mark as read. Each one moves the alert to its own tab: Read, Snoozed, Ignored, Muted or Resolved. You need the Member role or higher to use them.

Mark as read

The alert moves from Unread to Read. It stays open, and it closes by itself once the situation is over. Read alerts are left out of your daily e-mail.

Snooze

Pick Snooze 1d, Snooze 7d or Snooze 30d. The alert waits in Snoozed until the time is up, then moves to Resolved. If the situation is still there at the next morning check, priceq raises it again as a new alert. This is the safe choice when you know about a problem and want quiet for a while.

Ignore 30d

This moves the alert to Ignored, where it stays. Be aware: ignoring does not hold back the same situation. If it is still true at the next morning check, a new unread alert for it appears. Use Snooze if you want a real pause.

Mute

Mute is permanent. It stops new alerts of this type for this product, and also for this shop. So muting a Competitor cheaper alert for one product at one shop silences that alert type for the product at every shop, and for every product at that shop.

There is no way to undo a mute in the app. If you are not sure, snooze instead.

Mark resolved

Use this once you have dealt with the cause, for example after changing your price. The alert moves to Resolved. If the situation still exists at the next check, a new alert appears.

Alerts that close by themselves

You do not have to close everything by hand. An unread or read alert moves to Resolved on its own once priceq no longer sees the situation. See Why did my alert disappear? and What makes each type of alert fire?
