How does the getting-started checklist work?

Updated

Getting started, 7 articles

A new account opens on a Getting started checklist on the dashboard. Each step ticks itself off as soon as priceq sees it is done. Only the next open step has a button; the rest say Later.

The steps

  1. Bring in your products. Click Connect webshop → to link your shop, or Or import a file to upload a list. If your webshop is connected but nothing is imported yet, the button reads Choose products →. See connect your webshop.
  2. Choose shops to follow. Add shops → takes you to Sources, where you add the competitors you want to watch.
  3. Link products to shops. priceq looks for your products at those shops. The step shows how far it got, for example "12 of 40 products linked", and ticks off once the first product is linked.
  4. Get your first prices. This step appears after the first link. It has its own Measure now button, explained below.
  5. Point out your own shop. Only if you told priceq you are a webshop. See set up your own shop.
  6. Fill in your company details. Your company name and address, used on your invoice. Fill in details → opens Settings, Client.

Company details come last on purpose. You can see prices without them.

Measure now

Prices normally arrive with the daily round at 06:00 UTC. Measure now collects prices for your linked products straight away, so you do not have to wait until tomorrow. While it runs you see Collecting your prices…, then how many prices came in and a See your prices → link.

  • You can use it twice a day. After that the message reads Your measuring room for today is used up. We carry on automatically tonight.
  • Only the Supervisor and Admin roles can press it.
  • If nothing is linked yet, it asks you to Link a product to a shop first.
  • If no prices came back, it says No prices found yet. We will try again tonight.

Big or small

While you have no products yet (or, for a webshop, no own shop), the checklist fills the whole dashboard. After that it shrinks to one line under the dashboard title. Click that line to open the list again, or use the Getting started link in the sidebar.

When every step is done, the checklist disappears. Read what you see on day one for what the dashboard shows after that.
