Why is a menu item locked?
Updated
Plans and billing, 5 articles
A small lock next to a menu item means your current plan does not include that part of priceq. It only happens under Dynamic pricing in the sidebar: Repricing, Strategy and Dynamic pricing itself. These three are part of the Business, Professional and Enterprise plans, not of Start or the Free trial.
What you see
The item stays in the menu and you can still click it. On a wide screen and in the phone menu the lock shows next to the name. When the sidebar is folded down to icons, there is no room for it. Screen readers announce the item with (not in your plan) after its name.
Clicking Repricing or Strategy opens a page that says Price proposals are not in your plan, with a line naming the plans that have it. The See plans button takes you to Subscription in Settings.
Clicking Dynamic pricing shows a short explanation of what it does, the first plan that includes it, and the plan you are on now. The View plans button goes to the same place.
How to unlock it
Choose a plan that includes the feature. Only an admin can change the subscription: anyone else sees Only an admin can manage the subscription. on that screen. Ask an admin in your organisation, or read Buy, change or cancel your subscription.
Once your plan includes the feature, the lock disappears and the pages open as normal. Everything else in the sidebar works on every plan. For what each plan includes and how many products, shops and users it allows, see Plans and limits.
What the three items do
- Repricing lists price proposals per product, which you approve before anything goes to your shop. See If I approve a proposal, does it change my price?.
- Strategy is where you set the rules those proposals follow.
- Dynamic pricing decides when priceq may send prices to your webshop by itself. See Automatic sending.
