What does priceq read from my webshop, and what does it change?

Connecting your webshop, 8 articles

priceq reads your product data, your prices and your daily sales totals. It writes only one thing back: the selling price of a product, and only for prices you approved. Stock, product texts and running sales stay as they are.

What priceq reads

For each product you chose to import:

  • name, article code (SKU), EAN, brand and manufacturer part number
  • category
  • your selling price, list price (compare-at or regular price) and cost price
  • the start and end date of a running sale
  • whether the product is active or disabled in your shop

From your orders, priceq reads totals per product per day: the number of units sold and the revenue, with returns taken off. It does not read customer names, addresses or order numbers. These totals feed your reports.

Stock levels are not read from your shop.

What priceq writes

Only the selling price, and only when you send approved prices to your shop. See Sending prices to your shop. If you switched on automatic sending, priceq sends prices within the limits you set there. See Automatic sending.

Sale prices, compare-at prices and special prices are never touched. A product that is on sale in your shop gets no new price from priceq. See Why is my product blocked?. Nor does priceq write stock, descriptions, images or product names.

After each write, priceq reads the price back from your shop to check that it arrived.

Why priceq asks for write access

Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento only allow a price change when the connection has write rights on products or prices. That is why the approval screen asks for it. Connecting alone changes nothing: see Does approving change my price?.

Your product data in priceq

While your shop is connected, it is the source of your catalogue. Changes you make in your shop come into priceq, and you cannot edit those products in priceq. See Why Import and Add are greyed out.
