How do I add a retailer?

Updated

Products and sources, 8 articles

You add a retailer by pasting its web address. priceq works out the rest: the shop's name, its country and its internal name. You only choose Add.

Adding one

  1. Open Sources and choose Add retailer.
  2. In The shop’s website, paste the address, for example caseking.de. A full link to any page of the shop works too.
  3. Wait a moment. priceq opens the shop's home page and shows the shop name, the domain and the country.
  4. Choose Add.

You see Retailer is being created and the shop appears in the list as being created… while priceq sets it up.

The country comes from the end of the address: .de is Germany, .nl is the Netherlands. An address without a country code, such as .com, counts as your own country. You can only add shops in your own market. If the check refuses the address, see Why can't I add this shop?.

Sometimes the check says it could not open the site just now. That is common for shops with bot protection and it does not stop you. You can still add the shop.

What happens next

Adding the shop does not link your products yet. priceq has to find each of your products on the shop's site first. That runs every night at 03:00 UTC. To start right away, choose Match with the number of new products on the shop's row.

While nothing has come in yet, the shop shows Waiting and "no prices yet". See Waiting: no prices yet. Once products are linked, their prices come in with the regular price checks. See When are prices checked?.

Plan limit

Each plan allows a number of competitor shops. Your own store and shops you have switched off do not count. When you are at the limit, adding a shop shows "Your plan allows" followed by the number of competitor shops. See Plans and limits.
