Can I see prices without VAT?

Understanding prices, 10 articles
Yes. The Overview matrix has a switch on the right of the shops row. It reads incl. 21% VAT when it is on, with the VAT rate of your home market, and excl. VAT when it is off. It starts switched on.
What the switch changes
Switching to excl. VAT divides every price on the Overview matrix by one plus your VAT rate and rounds to the cent. That covers the prices in both views, the gap amounts and the shop list under a row.
It changes nothing else:
- priceq compares and ranks shops on the prices as collected. The order, the percentages and your place stay exactly the same.
- The product page, the Dashboard, the Trends page and Export CSV keep showing prices as collected.
- Stored prices are not touched. Nothing is sent to your webshop.
The rate comes from your home market, for example 21% in the Netherlands and 19% in Germany.
Your choice is saved in this browser. A colleague, or you on another computer, starts with VAT included again.
Shops in another currency
Your account has one home market and one currency. priceq does not convert currencies.
When you track a shop that sells in another currency, its price is shown in that currency but never compared with yours:
- In Detailed view the tile shows the price and the currency code instead of a percentage.
- In Simple view the shop is left out of the bar, the gap and your place.
- The Dashboard, the Trends page and the retailer leaderboard use prices in your home currency only.
So a shop in another currency can never be named your cheapest competitor.
